Patricia J. Rabbe

Patricia J. “Pat” Rabbe, 85, of Mason City, passed away at Proctor Hospital on Saturday, November 28, 2015, with her loving daughters at her side. Pat was born on April 8, 1930, in Peoria, the daughter of the late George and Marie (Nau) Tockes. Pat grew up in Peoria graduating from Manual High School. After high school she worked for Caterpillar until she met and married Melvin “Bud” Rabbe. She moved to Bud’s farm in San Jose and they shared 55 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death in March 2005. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother and half-sister. Pat was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City where she taught Sunday school. Pat loved art and music, and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Pat worked different jobs, and is retired from Lehn and Fink in Lincoln, IL. Pat is survived by her loving daughters: Judith (Dan) Scandiff of Oak Brook, IL, Patricia (Steve) Shaw of Peoria, IL, and Debra Weber of Mason City, IL, her grandchildren: Adam (Jamie) Shaw of Peoria, Andrew Shaw of West Hollywood, CA, Brandon Shaw of Peoria, Daniel Scandiff of Chicago, Lindsay (Mike) Psaltis of Chicago, and Ryan Scandiff of Oak Brook, and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral service officiated by Rev. John Johnson will be held on Tuesday, December 1, at 1 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 114 E Walnut St., Mason City, IL 62664. The family will receive guests at the church from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in Pat’s name may be left to Christ Lutheran Church of Mason City or to Unity Point Hospice in Peoria. The family would like thank Mason City Nursing Home, Rosewood Nursing Home, and Unity Point Hospice for the loving care she received over the last four months.
