Pam Brokaw

Pam Brokaw, age 55, of Salt Lake City, our daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on May 17, 2013, at the Uintah Basin Senior Villa and Rehabilitation Center, after a courageous battle with Diabetes and Kidney Disease. She was born on July 14, 1957, in Price, Utah, to Donnell Brokaw and Doralda Winn Brokaw. She graduated from Union High with honors and elected to go to Ricks College in Idaho to pursue a nursing career. She graduated from Ricks College and then served a mission in Cebu, Philippines, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her mission and the people of the Philippines. After returning from her mission, Pam went back to school attending both BYU and the University of California San Francisco. She had an opportunity to travel with others to Jerusalem to study and enjoyed her time there. She graduated with two Master's Degrees, one in Health Education and the other in Nursing. She remained out on the Wasatch Front, where she initially worked as a nurse and then she found her true passion, which was to teach nursing to others. Pam was a very giving and compassionate person. Pam never lost her love for learning. Pam is survived by her parents, Donnell and Doralda Brokaw, of Roosevelt; Sherrie Brokaw, of Roosevelt; Shawna (Clay) Thompson, of Washington; Larry (Linda) Brokaw of Wyoming; nieces, Tiffany Thompson, of Oregon; Chantae Brokaw, of Wyoming; Tara Scranton, of South Carolina; and nephew Travis Brokaw of Wyoming. Pam is also survived by friends that she considered family; Cheree Brotherson, Jace Brotherson, Sue Wetzel and Lona Broadhead. Pam was preceded in death by her grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. There will be a viewing at the Roosevelt City Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., with graveside services at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Sr. Villa for their loving care of both Pam and her family.
