About Oscar Oberkircher
From The Danville News: "Oscar R. Oberkircher, 62, of Danville RD 6, died Thursday morning, Aug. 6, 1998, at his home. He was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., son of the late Dr. Oscar J. and Flora Stoddart Oberkircher. He graduated from Nichols School of Buffalo in 1954, Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., in 1958 and the University of Buffalo School of Medicine in 1962. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain stationed in Tachikawa, Japan, from 1963 to 1966. Dr. Oberkircher was a board certified pediatric nephrologist practicing in Buffalo, N.Y., and also at the Geisinger Medical Center since 1978. He retired in 1996. He was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of directors of Camp Victory and he was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Chorale and Danville Community Singers. He enjoyed farming and raising registered heifers. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Susan Roberts; two sons, Oscar J. of Lebanon and Adam R. of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Laura Beth of Raleigh, N.C., and Amy Lynn of New Zealand; one brother, Paul E. of Paoli; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David J. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grove Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be held in Forest Lawn, Buffalo, NY. .."
