Odell Cunningham

Mr. Odell Cunningham was 79 years of age, husband of Betty Brummell, and son of Ernest and Mamie Watts Cunningham. Odell Cunningham Mauldin Odell Cunningham, age 79, of 100 Whitestone Ave., departed this life Saturday, July 16, 2011. Born in Waterloo, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest Cunningham and Mamie Watts Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham retired from Michelin Tire Company and Institutional Resources. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Cunningham was a member of the St. Paul First Baptist Church, Laurens. Surviving are his wife, Betty Brummell Cunningham of the home; three children, Ivan Odell of the home, Gina (Maxie) Agnew of Anderson, SC and Malena Cunningham of Birmingham, AL and four grandchildren, Maxie Agnew, II, Marques Agnew, Myles Agnew, LaShay Reid. He is also survived by ten nieces and eleven nephews and a host of other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Mills, Bertha Philson, and Bernice Furman and one brother, Ernest Benjamin Cunningham. The family would like to express thanks for the tender care given to Mr. Cunningham by Piedmont Hospice, Heavenly Care Services and McCall Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Cancer Centers of The Carolinas, 65 International Drive, Greenville, SC 29615 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Family hour will be held Wedneday, July 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Baptist Church, 600 East McBee Avenue, Greenville with funeral service to follow at 12 Noon.
