About O. Humphries
St. Petersburg Times (FL) - June 11, 1999 HUMPHRIES, O.J., 73, of Inverness, died Thursday (June 10, 1999) at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Born in South Carolina, he came here 33 years ago from Miami. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a soloist and trustee. He was a retired chiropractor, a former three-term mayor of Inverness and an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, serving as secretary and president, Citrus High School football team physician and organizer of the Citrus County United Way. He served on the board of the Key Training Center and was active in Little League baseball and the Citrus County school system. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Poliquin; a son, Dr. Donn, Chicago; a daughter, DonnaGodwin, Inverness; and six grandchildren. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
