About Norman Nachtwey

NORMAN E. NACHTWEY Norman E. “Otto” Nachtwey, 83, 314A E. Main St., Mishicot, passed away on Friday, Aug. 27, 1993 after a courageous battle with cancer at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born April 14, 1910 in Pine Grove to the late Mark and Josephine (Steinbrecher) Nachtwey. He married Myrtle Dewane on June 14, 1938 at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown. Norman was the owner/operator of Maribel Mineral Springs for 30 years. He later became Custodial Maintenance Manager for the City of Two Rivers Recreation Department, followed by Park Facility Attendant of Neshoto Park. In the past several years of his life, Norman actively volunteered in the Senior Citizens program and was past president of the Manitowoc County Senior Citizens. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus. He sang for years in the St. James Church men’s choir. His loving concern for all children was well-known and is deeply felt by his surviving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Jim Teske, Green Bay; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Nachtwey, Manitowoc; grandchildren, Jeff and Cheryl Teske, Appleton; Michael and Suzanne Teske, Flemington, New Jersey; Robert and Lisa Teske, Racine; Judi Teske, Green Bay, Michelle and David Rogers, Chicago; Giner, Gerald and Angelia Nachtwey, Manitowoc; as well as four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kelly, Matthew and Andrew Teske. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie Moyer, Rita and Ernie Zahorik, Evelyn and Wilbur Wojta; one brother and sister-in-law, Aloysius and Lucille Nachtwey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Myrtle in 1988; a daughter, Judith Anne; an infant son; one brother, Roman; and two sisters, Mildred Schuster and Marian Wagner. Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.; Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, with Father James Feely officiating with burial at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Cooperstown. Norman’s charitable presence will be sorely missed by the people he served. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Dr. James Lacey of the Beaumont Clinic for going “the extra mile” with Daddy and also to the Holy Family Hospice for their profound consideration of Otto.
