Noreen Philomena Hohmann

Nora Philomena Hohmann (Rohan), 86, of South Dennis, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after a short illness. Nora was born on August 18, 1934, to Margret and Thomas Rohan in County Kerry, Ireland. As a young woman she traveled from Ireland to Boston, MA to study Nursing. Soon thereafter she met her beloved husband, Paul A. Hohmann, and were married on April 8, 1961. They recently celebrated their "61" wedding anniversary and continued to demonstrate their love and affection for each other until Nora's passing. They were blessed with four children: Cheryl, Maureen, Paul, and Joseph (Joe). Nora enjoyed life with her family and friends, long walks at Johnny Kelly Park or on her treadmill, loved to bake and cook and was known her for her famous "Mac & Cheese" by many. She had a strong faith and love for God and was dedicated to always making sure everyone came first and selflessly loved everyone she met and knew. Nora rarely passed up an opportunity to spend time with family and friends and thankfully all who knew her have many memories to cherish as they grieve her passing and celebrate a life well lived. Prior to her passing, many who knew her had the opportunity to spend time with her and her family is so grateful for all those who visited and/or called. She was also blessed to be "Nan" to her four grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Matthew, and Elizabeth (Libby) and two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Oliver. Nora cherished her role as "Nan" and had many magical moments over the last 32 years with her grandchildren. Nora welcomed the opportunity to be known as "Nan" to many but especially by Shana Narcisse and her partner, Wiley Shea, and their two children, Wiley Jr. and Isaac, as well as by Joshua and Jakob Wyman and many nieces and nephews. Nora is survived by her husband, Paul A. Hohmann, her children, who all absolutely loved and cherished her: Cheryl A. Hohmann and her husband, Bill Wyman of South Yarmouth, MA, Maureen O'Brien of South Dennis, MA and her former husband Jeff O'Brien, Joe G. Hohmann and his wife Amy Hohmann of South Yarmouth, MA, her brothers: Tommy and Mickey Rohan. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Hohmann, her sisters, Eileen (Esha) and Mary, her brother James, and grandson, Justin O'Brien. At Nora's request no memorial service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for someone else in Nora's memory.
