Obituary 1: In San Leandro on Dec. 22, 1994. Dearly beloved wife of the late Herbert V. Baak. Loving mother of Janice Sohn of San leandro, Sandra Sharp of Pasadena, and the late Herbert Baak, Jr. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Baak was a homemaker for many years, and an active volunteer at the Vesper Thrift Store and at the library in San Leandro. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church for 60 years. A native of Oakland, Calif., age 92 years. Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1994, beginning at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Broadmoor Blvd. & Breed Ave., San Leandro. Burial will be private at Mt. View Cemetery in Oakland. The Oakland native lived in San Leandro for 40 years. Mrs. Baak was an active member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the San Leandro library and the Vesper Thrift Store. She was the widow of Herbert Baak, who died in 1974, and the mother of Herbert Baak Jr. who died in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Sohn of San Leandro and Sandra Sharp of Pasadena and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
