About Nancy Taylor
Nancy Elaine Taylor, age 86, of Hillsdale, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Monday, August 8, 2022 in Jackson. She was born in Hillsdale on February 5, 1936, to Ward and Stella (Roush Seder) Bly. Nancy graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1954. As a young mother, she volunteered as a Gray Lady at the hospital and was involved in her children's school activities. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper and secretary for Stanley's Bookkeeping, Davis Middle School, and Taylor Mills Manufacturing. Nancy also spent 20 years of her retirement teaching piano lessons to countless area children. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Nancy had a passion for music and animals and loved the holidays with her family. Nancy was the loving mother of three children who survive her: Linda (Gary) Matych of Novi, Diane (Al) Philipp of Osseo, and James (Marta) Taylor of Golden, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Nancy was formerly married to James O. Taylor. He preceded her in death as did her parents and sister, Sally McElroy. A private family graveside service for Nancy Taylor will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
