About Nadine Holmes
Nadine's Obituary reads: She was born on a farm in Andover. She attended and graduated from Andover High School and was active in 4 H Club work. Through this she met the love of her life, Perry Holmes. Although they wanted to marry times were tough and Perry could not find work. They actually dated seven years and finally married. Perry found work at Kansas Gas and Electric Company as a Groundskeeper and they married in 1938. Nadine was primarily a housewife, mother and homemaker to Perry and their three children. Perry was given an inside job finally as a Plant Manager and he worked shift work which put a lot of burden on Nadine to pretty much raise the children under difficult circumstances. It seemed their schedule was constantly changing and yet she worked around it and did not complain. Once the children were raised and on their own. She and Perry took up square dancing with the Westenair's group. They really enjoyed this social activity and made many friends.
