Mildred Maria Elizabeth Sophia LaBorde

Mildred Marie Elizabeth Sophia Jacobs was born February 22, 1902, in Stephenson County, Illinois, the daughter of Wilhelm Fred Jacobs and Augusta Nieman. Mildred first married Stanley Delo Vincent Rosenstiel on September 23, 1923, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Stanley was born February 17, 1902, in Stephenson County, Illinois, the son of John Richard Rosenstiel and Catherine M. Lyons. They had one child: 1. Wilbur Richard Rosenstiel (1927-2004) Stanley was accidentally killed by carbon monoxide poisoning on January 15, 1936, near Lynnville Township, Ogle County, Illinois. Mildred then married Wilbur Milo LaBorde on June 23, 1943, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Wilbur was born January 1, 1903, in Buckeye Township, Stephenson County, Illinois, the son of Charles and Carrie (Dean) LaBorde. Wilbur worked for Fairbanks-Morse, Stove Manufacturing and Structo Manufacturing and California Pellet Mill. He retired in 1969. Mildred died December 24, 1968, in Monroe, Green County, Wisconsin. Wilbur then married Helen Madaline (Hopper) Jacobs (1903-1993). Wilbur died February 16, 1985, in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Following is a transcription of her obituary from the Freeport Journal-Standard: Mrs. W. M. LaBorde Mrs. Wilbur M. (Mildred) LaBorde, 407 N. Nursery Ave., died Tuesday night in St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, Wis. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. Born Feb. 22, 1901, in Freeport, she was the daughter of William and Augusta (Nieman) Jacobs. On Sept. 1, 1923, she was married to Stanley Rosenstiel. He died Jan. 20, 1936. She was married to Wilbur M. LaBorde June 23, 1943, in Freeport. Surviving are her husband; son, Wilbur Rosenstiel of Freeport; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Mabel) Huber of De Kalb; and two brothers, LeRoy and Emerson, both of Freeport. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Anstedt, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home.
