About Meta Zaiser
Meta Wilhelmina Meier Zaiser, the daughter of Gust and Mary Schade Meier, was born in Hartley, Iowa, on May 8, 1903. She passed away on Saturday, July 6, 1991, at Millie's Rest Home in Sutherland, Iowa, reaching the age of 88 years, 1 month and 28 days. She was baptized on November 17, 1929, at Melvin, Iowa, and confirmed on March 6, 1948, at Sutherland, Iowa, by Pastor E.E. Greene. On February 4, 1925, she was united in marriage to Earle Zaiser. To this union one child was born, Earleen Jensen of Sutherland, Iowa. Meta was active in the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Helping Hands of the church, serving as president and secretary. Meta was employed for Dr. Bruce Hagen of the Hagen Chiropractic Clinic in Primghar for several years and later worked for Dr. James Durlacher in the clinic before her retirement. Her husband preceded her in death in 1965 and Meta continued to make her home in Sutherland before entering the Millie's Rest Home. Meta is survived by her daughter, Earleen and husband, Paul Jensen of Sutherland; four grandchildren: Noel and Edith Lange of Mankato, Minn.; Sue Lange of Kasson, Minn.; Jeff and Joni Jensen of Round Rock, Texas; Lisa and Les Huckaby of Sutherland and Kelley Jensen of Aurelia; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Royal (Cecelia) Ennis of Hartley and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Nora Meier of Hartley; also a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle; one son-in-law, Earl Lange; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Meier; one brother, Bill Meier; one grandchild, Greg Lange and two great granddaughters.
