Maurice Dale Fagg

Maurice Dale Fagg, the son of Jerrold D. and Mary Ellen Tomberlin Fagg, was born at Garnett, Kan. on September 8, 1967. He died in an auto accident near Harrisonville, Mo., on Tuesday, April 23, 1996 at the age of 28. Dale attended school in Garnett and was a graduate of the Garnett High School with the class of 1986. He had been an active member of the Boy Scout Troop her in Garnett. He was also a member of the Garnett High School football team. Following High School he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in Germany. Dale was married to Stacey Hayden on Oct. 21, 1986 at Olathe, Ks. He worked for the Garnett Church Furniture factory, and the AFG Glass Company in Spring Hill. He then took his Certified Nurses Aide training at Bella Vista Nursing Center in Overland Park and then worked at Oak Haven Nursing Center in Richmond where he received his Medication Aide certification. He was currently employed by H & H Auto in Garnett. Dale was a member of the First Christian Church of Garnett and had been a member of the Garnett Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Fagg, and by a brother, Jerrold Bryant Fagg. Dale is survived by his father and stepmother, Jerry and Mary A. Fagg of Garnett; by his son Matthew Fagg of Ottawa; by a stepdaughter, Candace Vickers of Ottawa, and their mother Stacey Hayden of Ottawa. Also surviving are his brothers: Scott Fagg and Ross Fagg, both of Garnett, and Daniel Fagg; a stepbrother, Andy Roberts of Iola; two stepsisters, Nickie Hiestand of Topeka and Laura Lewis of Pleasanton; his grandmother Oma Fagg of Garnett, and his in-laws, Darold and Norma Hayden of Garnett; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were officiated by the Reverend Gary Benjamin Friday, April 26, 1996 at Farris-Feuerborn Chapel in Garnett. Music was by Jeanine Zentner and from recorded selections favored by Dale. Casketbearers were Mark Upp, Tom Fagg, Doug Truhe, Joe Rodriguez, Jon Potter, Andy Roberts and Bob Hayden. Interment followed the services at the Garnett Cemetery, Garnett. Memorials may be given to the education fund for the children.
