About Mary Nagel
Mary Lou Nagel, 94, of Sandusky, died Saturday morning, May 7, 2011, in Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky, following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Sandusky, where is was a life long resident. Mary Lou was employed for more than 35 years as an election day employee of the Board of Elections. She and her late husband loved to ride the boat to Cedar Point every day in the summers, and she also was an avid bowler. Mary Lou was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Sandusky, where she had taught Sunday school. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne (Phil) Heaton of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one son, Kenneth (Jane) Nagel of Sandusky; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas F. Nagel in 2001; her parents; one granddaughter, Jackie Sue Heaton; one great-grandson, Devin Keegen; one brother, Ed Ruff; and one sister, Dorothy Eder. Family funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Edgar Shelly officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 334 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH. 44870.
