Mary Z. Griep

Mary Z. nee (Vandertie) Griep, age 96, formerly of Two Rivers, currently residing with her daughter, Gloria Yeoman, in South Milwaukee, died Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 1997, at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 1998, at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Larry Seidl and Rev. Lee Kahrs will co-celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mary was born November 20, 1901, in Rosiere, township of Brussels, daughter of the late John and Emerence Reince Vangindertaelen. She attended the Roosevelt School in the town of Brussels. She was employed at the Fly Net Co. in Algoma, until moving to Two Rivers, where she worked at the Aluminum Goods for a number of years until her marriage. On November 11, 1939, she married Walter C. Griep in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death March 3, 1970. Mary was a long time member of St. Mark Parish. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Larry Yeoman, South Milwaukee; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Griep, Forestville; seven grandchildren, Susan Mielke, Appleton, Michael Griep, Gregory (Jody) Griep, all of Forestville, Mark Griep and fiancee', Brenda, Brussels, Shelly (Eric) Murphy, Green Bay; John Yeoman, Peoria, Ill., and Ann Yeoman, South Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jeffrey Mielke, Scott, Amber, Brandon, and Jordan Griep, Lauren and Macaela Murphy; three sisters-in-law, Edna Griep, Elizabeth Czechanski, and Ann Griep, all of Two Rivers; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Autumn Griep; her brothers and sisters, Fabian, Freddie, Fred, Elmond, Anna, William, and Ben (Gertrude) Vandertie, Sarah (Fred) Martin, Ida (Anthony) DeBruin, also by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Margaret (Oscar) Johnson, Frieda (Mark) Sickinger, Gerhardt Griep and Harold Czechanski. Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels on Friday (TONIGHT) from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday until leaving for the church.
