Mary Brower Obituary Mary R. Brower, age 96, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Porta Caeli House Hospice, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born to Clifton James and Florence May Self on August 14, 1925, in Loveland, Colorado. She spent most of her life in Collinsville, OK with husband Gerald and children Vicki, Donna, Mark, and Jana. Mary was a homemaker while most of the children were still at home. After that, she found a career as a nurse's aide at the Collinsville Hospital where she worked for over 30 years. Instead of retiring, she then used her nursing skills to sit with many clients and friends who needed help at home. She loved Jesus, family, friends, and her country and was not shy about discussing all of them. She was a member of the Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle for many years and served in many capacities including providing countless covered dishes for church gatherings. Mary was known to provide meals, transportation and comfort to the "old people" in the community, many of whom were younger than she was. She loved sports, especially college football and rarely missed an OU or OSU game. She enjoyed gardening and was proud of the many different flowers in her front yard. She was a great cook and cooked her own meals until this last year when daughter-in-law, Ellen, took over the cooking and her care. Mary is survived by three children and eleven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Gerald, daughter Donna, daughter-in-law Ellen, granddaughters Rikki and Michele, her parents and all six of her brothers and sister.
