Marvin G Lefeber

Marvin G. Lefeber, age 82, of Hilbert, died on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born September 25, 1939, son of the late Benedict & Margaret (Morgen) Lefeber. Marvin was a graduate of Hilbert High School, Class of 1957 and married Mary Schomisch on September 5, 1964 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. He loved the blessing of being on the farm he was raised on and operated after his parents, tending to the animals under his care. It wasn't uncommon for him to play good Polka music for all of the cows in his barn, next to the house he was raised in. This was the same farm he learned and appreciated his work ethic and learned the importance of the gift of forgiveness. He was a man with a warm and joyous laugh, continually looking for the next dance with his beloved wife or a new opportunity to sit down and play a game of cards with friends and family. He was a loving and attentive father who enjoyed reminiscing about stories from his childhood as well as those of his children. His warmth and gentle spirit will be missed. Above all else, Marv treasured his faith. He was a lifelong member of St. John Sacred Heart Parish and prayed the Rosary every day, looking forward to church events that he could attend to share stories and memories with family and friends. Survivors include his wife: Mary; his children: Cynthia ​(Kent) Lefeber and Leon (Jason) Lefeber; 2 grandchildren: Jacob (Julia) Godschalx and Kate (Troy) Godschalx; a great grandchild: Clayton Godschalx; and Jason's children: Christian and Kalel Wedesky. He is further survived by ​Arthur and Darlene Schomisch, Timothy and Todd Lefeber, other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother: Elroy (Mary Anne) Lefeber​; and Gerald Schomisch and James Schomisch. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 and on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. ​The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the doctor and nursing staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital for their excellent care and thoughtful compassion.
