Marilyn W Anderson

Marilyn Thomas Wolfley Witbeck Anderson passed away peacefully on February 18, 2003. Marilyn just celebrated her 80th birthday on February 7. She was born in Garfield, Utah in 1923 to Richard E. and Mable Markham Thomas. She was a long time resident of Magna, and graduated from Cyprus High School. She was married to B.L. "Bill" Wolfley for 31 wonderful years with which they raised three children and lived in Magna, Utah. Bill preceded her in death in 1977. She married Dell M. Witbeck in 1980 and loved traveling on the back of Dell's Honda Goldwing; Dell preceded her in death in 1982. In 1984 she married Dwayne Anderson and gained wonderful stepchildren and grandchildren. They lived in the Holladay area for a while before moving back to Magna; Dwayne passed away in 1997. Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many positions. She worked as a heavy equipment operator at TAD during World War II, and worked for Litton Industries for many years before retiring in 1984. Survived by her children, Kent J. (Linda) Hogan, Karen (Joe) Taylor, and Dennis R. (Sharon) Wolfley; step-children, Brooks (Dixie) Anderson, Jeff Monson, and Michelle (Gary) Taylor; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; sisters-in-law, Merrie Thomas and Joyce Thomas; many nieces, nephews, wonderful neighbors, and friends. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Jack Snell, Florence Winget, Mark Snell, Richard Thomas, Robert Thomas, and baby Jeanne. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Lake Ridge 11th Ward, 7825 West Sharon Dr. (3340 South), where friends may call both Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 12-12:45 p.m. Interment: Holladay Hills Memorial Estates.
