Maria Price Obituary Maria Elson Price  April 12, 1930 ~ December 29, 2023  Maria 'Mickie' Elson Price, aged 93, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father December 29, 2023 surrounded by love within the sanctuary of her own home. Mickie graced this world on April 12, 1930 in the family home in Bancroft Idaho, born to Michael and Stella (Siebert) Elson. Michael (Mike) Elson, ventured to America as a Greek immigrant during his teens, seeking a brighter future. Mickie was the second eldest among four siblings. Sadly, her sister Irene, the eldest was still born. Joseph (Joe) is her surviving sibling, and their bond remains unbreakable to this day. Tragically, the youngest sibling, Michael, passed away a day after birth.  Remaining rooted in Bancroft through all her formative years, Mickie forged lifelong friends, Mike and Donna Hatch, starting in her kindergarten days who have been friends with her to this day. When she was asked what she did for fun growing up she would laugh and say "there is nothing to do in Bancroft."  They would go to the neighboring town in Chubbuck, Idaho to go dancing at the bar/dance hall. It was on the dance floor of this very hall that she encountered her eternal companion, Albert Farrel Price. Freshly returned from his service in the Navy, Farrel caught sight of her from across the room and invited her to dance. The two of them eloped to Elko, Nevada April 25, 1952. Farrel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Mickie was introduced to the church during high school when she attended seminary with Donna simply because she invited her. Mickie chose to embrace the faith, being baptized December 19, 1954 and subsequently sealed to Farrel in the Salt Lake City Temple July 1, 1959. Their unwavering commitment and devotion to their faith and each other were the  hallmarks that defined their journey together. Over the years they resided in Idaho, California, Indiana, Utah, and Washington, primarily due to Farrel's employment at RenaWare. This allowed them great opportunities to travel and explore the amazing world around them. Their final years were predominantly  spent in Washington and Utah, in proximity to cherished family and friends.  When asked what saying would she be known for while her kids were growing up she would say "Choose your friends wisely". When asked what her favorite thing to do with Farrel was she would tenderly, through tears, say "just love each other". Farrel's passing in 2016 left an indelible void in Mickie's life; she carried his memory in her heart every passing day. Now, she reunites with her eternal companion. They raised three children: Bobbette Price Fletcher, Diane Marie Price Simmons, and Bradley Farrel Price. Mickie radiated love as a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Family always held a prominent role in Mickie's life. She cherished each child, grandchild, and great grandchild individually, reveling in the moments spent with them. Her absence will be profoundly felt, leaving a void that cannot be easily filled.  The family wishes to give a special heartfelt thanks to all of Mickie's new friends – the wonderful care providers for being there for her in a way that the family could not. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being her angels. Funeral services will be held Friday January 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alpine 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 901 East Village Way, Alpine Utah. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Alpine City Cemetery.
