Mamie Lee Givens

Mamie Givens, 88 of East Palatka FL Earned her heavenly wings Saturday April 2, 2022 at the Haven Hospice Center Mamie Lee Givens was born on January 1, 1934, in Madison Florida, to the late Viola Morgan. To many, she was known as Mamie, but most, knew her as Momma. At the early age of seven, Mamie moved to Federal Pointe and then to Orange Mills, where she settled in East Palatka. Every place she resided; she left an impressionable mark on those she encountered, many of whom are here today. She served graciously as a member of Mount Zion Baptist Federal Pointe, for over 50 years. She also dedicated her service to Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, where she was the Director of the Children's Choir, assisted by the late Annette Kaymore, for over 12 years. Praise is what Mamie did best! Mamie had a passion for people. She would give freely of her time to feed the community, lend a listening ear, always leaving each person with a comforting word, that GOD IS IN CONTROL. Sharing God's love was what brought her heart joy, and she did that proudly and boldly. Family, to Mamie, was and still is a bond that can not be broken. She loved when her family would gather for cookouts andholidays. She'd always make time to impart her words of wisdom amongst her grandchildren, encouraging each of them to get an education and reminding them, that they can be anything they want to be in life. For all those that had a chance to meet Mamie, had the pleasure of meeting a woman that was sold out for Christ. No matter what the situation or circumstance looked like, she was going to trust God. She did just that, up until the very moment God invited her home. Proceeding her are: Mother – Viola Morgan, Sister – Lula Mae Cuffey, Niece- Wendel Morgan (Scoot), and three grandchildren. Left to cherish and carry on her legacy: Children: Hazel Andrews (Late Bill Andrews), James Givens II, Pearlie Harris (James Harris), Gary Givens (Patricia Givens), Clearance Givens, Andrea Trescot, John Trescot, Caroline Kirkland, Leigh Trescot, and David Trescot.
