M Rita Wilde

M. Rita (McSweeney) Wilde, 92, of Marshfield, formerly of Easton, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Wilde. Born in Easton, June 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Michael and Alice (Cahill) McSweeney and stepdaughter of the late Edward J. Sweeney, she was raised in Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School, Class of 1934. She attended Commercial School in Brockton. Rita was employed by the Federal Government and worked for the Office of Price Management in Boston. She later worked for the former Goddard Hospital in Stoughton and Park Medical Associates. A resident of Easton for many years, she was a summer resident of Marshfield for 49 years and a year-round resident for the past 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Anns by the Sea. A former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Rita served on the board of directors of the town of Easton Council on Aging for 12 years and was a member of the Marshfield Council on Aging and the 60 Plus Club. Rita is survived by her only son, James Wilde and his wife Barbara of Marshfield; three grandchildren, Christopher Wilde of South Boston, Brendan Wilde of Marshfield and Julie Wilde of Marshfield. She was the sister of the late Francis McSweeney. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Monday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St. (Rte. 138), Easton, followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., Easton, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
