Times-Picayune, The (New Orleans, LA) - July 27, 2000 Deceased Name: M.C. STURGIS M.C. Sturgis, a retired machinist with Pellerin Milnor Corp., died Friday of undetermined causes at his home. He was 68. Mr. Sturgis was born in Crystal Springs, Miss., and lived in Kenner for the past 50 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He received the Korean Service, United Nations Service and National Defense Service medals. He was a member and deacon of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Donnie Sturgis; four daughters, Juanita S. Clark, Shirley S. Washington and Shelia Sturgis and Janice Brown; two stepsons, Calvin and Tramaine Sturgis; two stepdaughters, Latonya and Latanya Sturgis; three brothers, J.W., Willie B. and O.C. Sturgis, all of Mississippi, and Robert Lee Sturgis of New Orleans; two sisters, Marie Lee and Earline Ford, both of Jackson, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Littlejohn's Funeral Home, 2163 Aubry St. Visitation will begin Friday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
