About M Reed
Geney Reed October 14, 1914 - March 29, 2022 San Antonio, Texas - Geney was born in Centerpoint, Indiana to Ted and Frances Thalman. She spent her early years in Illinois. After graduating from high school she attended Washington University School of Nursing in St. Louis. In 1940, she married Dr. Kramer Reed and they moved to Wichita, Kansas. She is survived by 2 children, daughter Kit and son Kim, granddaughters, Stephanie, Stacey and Susanah, and four great-grandchildren which added much joy to the family. Geney was a charter member of the Present Day Club, the Tuesday Book Club, the 1891 Cooking Club and various Bridge Clubs. She made time to serve on the Wichita State University Library Board. She returned to the university to complete her BS Degree in Nursing and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Geney and Kramer enjoyed traveling, particularly if associated with historical events. Kramer passed away on April 11, 2008 and shortly thereafter Geney moved to Texas to be closer to her family. Memorial Services were held in San Antonio, Texas. Published by Wichita Eagle on Apr. 10, 2022.
