Lydia Irene Hazel Uecker

Lydia Irene Hazel (Senske) Uecker was born on November 1, 1931, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Augusta (Tessmer) Senske, Sr. Lydia was baptized as an infant on November 29, 1931, by Pastor Hans Werner and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1946, by Pastor W.R. Mueller, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. She received her education at country school. On September 12, 1951, Lydia was united in marriage to Ruben Uecker at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Dryden Township until Ruben's death on May 10, 1985. Lydia moved into Gaylord in 1993. Lydia and Ruben were blessed with four children, and shared 33 years of marriage. Lydia had been employed by Hands, Inc. in Winthrop, Minnesota. She did seasonal work for Green Giant, Big Stone, and Arlington Canning Factories on and off from 1970 through 1985. Lydia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville and a member of the Christians Women's Club and Martha Circle. Lydia enjoyed gardening, yard work, taking photos, and dancing. She loved attending her grandchildren's school and sport events and rewarded them often with $1.00 for their efforts. Lydia especially loved spending time with her friends and family. Lydia passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington at the age of 82 years. Blessed be her memory. Lydia is survived by her: Children, Julie Kahle and her husband, Curt of Gaylord, MN, Connie Quast and her husband, Doug of Dassel, MN, Larry Uecker of Gaylord, MN, and Brenda Sharp of Gaylord, MN; 11 Grandchildren, Traci (Willie) Dummer, Dawn (Paul) Kratzke, Ryan (Becky) Kahle, Robyn (Theron) Pagel, Travis (Angie) Quast, Troy (Nicole) Quast, Lisa (Scott) Nelsen, Tricia (Jon) Hamre, Lindsey (Mike) Trahms, Katie Uecker, Abby Sharp; 13 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Delores Remus and Bernice Weishert; Sisters-In-Law, Mrytice Senske, Dorothy Senske, Phyllis Senske and Bernette Uecker; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law, Milton and Ruth Uecker and Milo and Jackie Uecker; Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
