Lucille U. Morgan

BRIDGEPORT — Lucille Bonasso Morgan, age 81, of 209 Blackwell Street, Bridgeport, West Virginia, departed this life January 24, 2006, at 1:30 a.m. at her residence. Born June 5, 1924, at Wyatt, Harrison County, West Virginia, she was the only daughter of Pietro Bonasso and Kate Morasco Bonasso. Lucille attended public schools, graduating from Shinnston High School in 1942. Following high school, Mrs. Morgan enrolled in the Catherine Gibbs Secretarial College in New York City, graduating in 1945. Upon her return to Clarksburg, she was employed by the West Virginia Strip Mining Association until 1950. Following this, she accepted a position with the General Motors Acceptance Corporation until her retirement in 1975. For the next 25 years she was associated in the automotive business with her husband, Richard Morgan, at the Buick garage in Clarksburg until his demise in 1991. In addition to her late husband, Mrs. Morgan’s brother, Russell P. Bonasso, preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by members of her immediate family, brothers, Sam Bonasso of Morgantown and Frank A. Bonasso and Louis Bonasso, both of Clarksburg, WV. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Eleanor Bonasso of California. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Pete and Claire Bonasso, Houston, TX, Jackie and John Salerno, San Jose, CA, Kay and Phil Julien, Orlando, FL, Vincent and Stacy Bonasso, Enid, OK, Phillip and Karen Bonasso, Jacksonville, FL, Donna and Jean Merryman, Morgantown, WV, Stephanie and Roger Woods, Morgantown, WV, Vicki and Michael Veltri, Clarksburg, WV, Louis and Toni Bonasso, Dublin, OH, Chris and Jim Ielapi, Bridgeport, WV, and David Bonasso of Pinehurst, NC. Friends will be received at the All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV, on Friday, January 27 from noon-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the church on Saturday, January 28 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Father Harry N. Cramer as celebrant. The interment will follow in the family plot at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston, WV.
