Linda Sue Proffitt

Linda Sue Noel Proffitt age 65, of Raven, Virginia passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at her home following a lengthy illness. Linda was born September 24, 1958, in Richlands, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Danny L. Noel, Sr, and Katherine M. Fox Noel. She was a graduate of Honaker High School. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was known as the neighborhood mom, always cooking, and caring for the kids in the neighborhood. She was a warm-spirited person, she loved to cook, was of the Christian faith, and loved her family, especially her grandbabies. Linda was of the Christian faith and was a lifetime resident of the area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry A. Proffitt, Sr., and her son, Kenneth W. Hess, Jr. Those that remain to carry on her caring spirit are her: Son, Jeremy W. Hess, and his wife, Natosha of Raven, VA Stepchildren: Larry A. Proffitt, Jr., and his wife, Kimberly of WV Crystal A. Hansen and her husband, Dave of Luray, VA Sister, Lora Jane Noel and fiancée Terry Hill of Swords Creek, VA Brother, Danny L. Noel, Jr., and companion, Kayla Leslie of NC Grandkids, Donald McClanahan, Austin Proffitt, Lindsey Vile, Nathalie Huffman, Autumn Hess, Logan Hess, Landon Hess, Emily Hansen, David Hansen, and Andrew Hansen. Great great-grandchildren, Kaylee McClanahan and Josephine Vile. The funeral service for Linda Proffitt will be conducted at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 18, 2023. Entombment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Mausoleum in Richlands, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 PM.
