Leonard W Binversie

Leonard W. Binversie, 81, of W549 Fur Farm Road, New Holstein, died Wednesday morning, March 17, 1999, at his home after a brief illness. He was born May 13, 1917, in School Hill, son of the late Joseph and Anna Miller Binversie. He attended school in School Hill. On April 8, 1947, he married Dolores Pfeiffer at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. He was employed at the former A.T. Hipke & Sons Company, New Holstein, as a field manager from 1944 until his retirement in 1981. After retirement he worked at Danes Farms in rural New Holstein. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, the Holy Name Society and Catholic Knights. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dolores; nine children, Ann Bustos, Williamsburg, VA, Ronald (Jane) Binversie, Cleveland, Robert Binversie, New Holstein, Carol (Dennis) Brand, rural New Holstein, Lambert (Julie) Binversie, St. Cloud, Mary O’Donnell, rural New Holstein, Barb Lautenschlager, New Holstein, Steve Binversie, rural New Holstein, and Kathy (Jim) Pahl, St. Anna. He is further survived by sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four sisters, Lucille (Harold) Clevenger, CA, Teckla Repenshek, Oshkosh, Sally (Chuck) Kirst, Grafton, Marie (Leon) Boll, New Holstein, his father-in-law, Zeno Pfeiffer, a resident of Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, and his faithful companion Prince. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard, son-in-law, Mitch O’Donnel and one brother, Joseph. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, with the Rev. Frank Weber officiating, preceded by brief family rites at 10:30 a.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY) and on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A wake service will be at 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
