About Leonadus Yancey
Fayette County - Leonadus Franklin "Frank" Yancey, age 91, lifelong resident of Oakland, retired Post Master for Oakland after 30 years and husband of Robbie Matheson Yancey departed this life Tuesday evening, November 19, 2013. Services for Mr. Yancey will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. Interment will be in the Oakland City Cemetery. Mr. Yancey served in the Navy during World War II, as an Oakland Alderman for 24 years and served on the Board of Directors of Chickasaw Electric for 39 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter, Ann Conley (Jim) of Walsenburg, CO; son, Lee Yancey (Les) of Oakland; son-in-law, Brian Moore of Germantown; grandchildren, Amy Howard (Clay), Emily Conley, Katie Clements (Greg), Justin Leonadus Yancey, Christopher Moore, Meghan Moore, Alex Carlew; and great-grandchildren, Aidan Howard and Sloane Clements. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Polk Yancey and Susan Elizabeth Adams Yancey and his daughter, Teresa Yancey Moore. A special thanks to Mr. Yancey's caretakers, Darryl and Eurika Grady and Baptist Trinity Hospice. Memorials are requested to Faith United Methodist Church of Oakland, TN.
