Lee Flores Pacheco

Columbus Republic 14 Jul 2004 Lee F. Pacheco Carr Hill Road Lee F. Pacheco, 80, of Carr Hill Road died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Hospice Inpatient Center of South Central Indiana. Mr. Pacheco retired from Brands Inc. where he worked for 18 years. He also had worked at Dunlap's for many years and at Hamilton Cosco. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater, the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. Mr. Pacheco was one of the first persons of Hispanic descent to settle in Columbus and was involved in migrant ministry in the 1950s and 1960s. He also served on the Ecumenical Council and assisted with the first boxing team at Columbus Boys Club. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with the Revs. Todd Goodson and Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike. Private burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice Inpatient Center of South Central Indiana. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 4, 1924, Mr. Pacheco was the son of Raymond and Rosa Flores Pacheco. He married Monica Lorraine Martin Nov. 9, 1943. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Theresa Roseann Keller of Tucson, Ariz.; sons, Gregory Lee Pacheco of Seymour, Geoffrey Allen Pacheco of Coolidge, Ariz., and Gerald Douglas Pacheco of Union, Ky.; grandchildren, Destiny Ott, Garrett Keller, Melissa Wilhite, Isaac, Lauren and Josiah Pacheco, Sarah, Amanda, Grace, Dillon, Luke, Joshua and Hillary Flescher and Lindsey Marcott; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Augustine, Raymond and Geral Pacheco.
