L. Marian Remer

L. Marian Remer, age 91, of Waverly, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Haven Homes of Maple Plain. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly with Father Kenneth O’Hotto as the celebrant. There was visitation at the church Thursday, Oct. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Mass. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly. Marian was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Winsted, the daughter of Carl A. and Lucy K. (Wirtz) Thiemann. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1945. Marian was joined in holy marriage with Clemens N. Remer Oct. 12, 1948, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with 14 children. Marian was formerly employed at Tonka Toys in Mound for 11 years, and as a dietary aide at New Beginnings in Waverly for 29 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, going to the lake (Alexandria and Hill City), and spending time with family. Marian was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. She is survived by her children: David C. (Nancy) Remer of Montrose, Michael L. Remer of Cokato, Douglas A. (Diane) Remer of Howard Lake, Sandra C. Remer of Minneapolis, Roger J. (Carol) Remer of Waverly, Heidi B. (Michael) Potter of Albertville, Natalie A. (Mark) Richman of New Jersey, Darren J. (Kris) Remer of Howard Lake, Tamara L. Ellis (Seth) of Mound, and Lynette S. (Jerome) Williamson of Waverly; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerome Thiemann of Winsted; and many other relatives and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Oct. 24, 1980; children James Remer, infant twin girls, and Bradley Remer; her parents; a sister, Arlene Stotts; grandson Anthony Ellis; and son-in-law Tom Otto.
