THE PARIS NEWS, FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2013, PAGE A3 - Deacon L. E. Brown passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, peacefully surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 60 Sycamore Street in Paris, featuring Peaceful Rest Elite Guards. Peaceful Rest Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Public viewing will be held from 1-7 p.m. today in the Chapel. Bro. Brown was a dedicated member of the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, attended Sunday School and attended church conferences/meetings until his health began to fail. He loved good devotion, good preaching, but most importantly, he loved the Lord. Bro. Brown worked for many years at Paris Milling Company where he acquired many friends. His most joyous tenure was when he became an esteemed family member of the Paris High School staff. He dedicated 28 years to Paris Independent School District as a custodian at the school and the athletic complex. Bro. Brown, or Father Brown as some would call him, was preceded in death by brothers, Burl Brown and Curlest Brown; and sisters, Rosie Booker, Luvetta Brown and Melvetta Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bass Brown of Paris; sons, Raymond and Hiltrud Brown of Denton, David Brown, James Brown, Jimmy and Donna Brown, all of Paris; daughter, Cora and Robert Edwards of Tyler; brothers, Clint Brown of Oklahoma, Johnny Lee Brown of Paris; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
