About Kenneth Tims

Kenneth Wayne Tims, our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandfather died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 after just turning 91 years old. He was born in Henrietta, Texas on May 1, 1931. He was preceded in death by his eternal companion, Naida of 68 years. He is survived by his four children - Kathryn Bybee, Randall Tims, Kristina Batie and David Tims, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. He lived a long and successful life. He joined the Marine Corps as a teenager and made a career in the service of his country. Although he left Texas as a teenager he was a Texan through and through and proud of it. He and his family moved all over the country as he served in the Marines until he finally retired in the 1960's in California. He completed his college education as he served full time in the Marines which provided him the opportunity to start a second career. After he retired from the Marines he went on to work in the silicon fabrication industry as a Materials Manager. He then was inspired to take a job with Signetics in Orem, Utah and moved to Alpine, Utah in 1981. After moving all over the country for half their lives, Ken and Naida made their forever home in Alpine and watched the grandkids grow to adulthood playing in the back of their home. Ken loved golfing, fishing, gardening and working in his yard. He had the opportunity to meet Latter-Day Saint lady missionaries and joined the church when he was a new father and just 22 years of age. He has always served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his whole life. His favorite calling was that of a temple worker which he served with his wife for many years. He was always faithful in his priesthood and served as a great example to his posterity. His entire family loved him so much and cherished the memories they all had with him and likewise He so loved all his family and was thankful to his Heavenly Father for blessing him with the comforts of life, his wife and all of his posterity. He is now buried alongside his eternal wife Naida, our Mom, on a hillside in Alpine overlooking their home, rejoicing and watching out together over their family still here on earth. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Alpine 9th Ward, 901 Village Way, Alpine, Utah where a viewing will be prior to services from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment with military honors will follow at the Alpine City Cemetery. Published by Premier Funeral Services.
