About Katherine McGregor

Katherine Ann McGregor (Kathy) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was born on January 24, 1933, in Redgranite. She was the daughter of John and Katherine (Wrysinski) Resheske. Kathy attended Redgranite Grade School and graduated from Wautoma High School as a member of the class of 1950. She graduated from Waushara County Normal with a teaching degree. She taught in Spring Lake and Milwaukee. On July 11, 1959, Kathy and Jerry McGregor were united in marriage at St. Mark's Catholic Parish, Redgranite. They were the last couple to be married in the old church. Jerry had a true love of farming. Kathy was proud to join him and worked alongside him, helping to carry on the family tradition of farming. They were both very proud to be honored at the Wisconsin State Fair in 1997 for owning and operating a "Century Old Farm". Kathy loved to garden. She and Jerry planted and grew a huge, beautiful garden every summer. They believed in planting more than they could use, so they could share their produce with others. Over the years, Kathy canned endless quarts of dill pickles and tomato juice, along with countless pints of green beans. She was always happy to share her canning knowledge, teach you how to can and share her delicious recipes. Kathy was the leader of the Aurora Busy Bees 4-H Club for 15 plus years. She was active at the local club level and county level. She was one of the original committee members who helped get the Waushara County 4-H Livestock Auction started. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Parish all her life. She was a member of the Ladies Sociality (CCW), served on and led funeral circles, taught Religious Education, and served on the Parish Council. Kathy was a "40" year breast cancer survivor. Most of all Kathy will be remembered as a wonderful, proud, dedicated, caring, wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Kathy leaves behind 4 children, her daughter, Diane (Jim) Trochinski, 3 sons; Mike (Ann), Bob (Sandy), Tom; brother and sister-in-law, Vern and Harriet Bertzyk; nephew, Dave (Deb) McGregor; 8 grandchildren, Jenni (Jim) Schumacher, Matt (Stephanie), Katie (Bob) Stone, Ben Trochinski, Kayden, Kallin, Jacob and Sophie; 5 great grandchildren, Lucy and Harrison Schumacher, Marshall and Oliver McGregor and Aubrie Trochinski. Kathy also leaves behind many cherished and loved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She will also be missed by her special friends and staff at Brown Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry of 61 years, parents, John and Katherine, 2 sisters/brothers-in-law, Martha (Jim) Finnerty, Genevieve (Herb) Schmuhl; 3 brothers/sister in-laws, Vincent (Margaret) Resheske, Leo (Florence) Resheske and Norb (Alyce) Resheske; brother-in-law, John McGregor; daughter-in-law, Mary McGregor; niece, Christine Gagliano.
