Karlene Marie Piña

Karlene Marie Piña, 54, of Axtell, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Bland officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Sept. 30, at the funeral home. Karlene Marie was born in Waco, Texas, to Jerald Lee and Sybil Jean (Polk) McClinton. She attended high school at LaVega and was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, in Axtell. Karlene married Paul Piña, on May 5, 1973, in Bellmead. She was a housewife and adored and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, doing crafts with the grand kids, playing bingo, cooking and baking. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Karlene was preceded in death by her mother, Sybil McClinton; and sisters, Karen Cope and Rosie Yost. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Paul Piña, of Axtell; sons, Jeremy Piña and wife, Gloria, of Waco, and Jason Piña and wife, Andrea and Paul Piña, Jr. and wife, Noemi, all of Bellmead; grandchildren, Abigal Piña, Jason Piña Jr., Joshua Piña, Angel Piña, Trinity Piña, Matthew Piña, Paul Piña III and Gideon Piña; sisters, Katherine Hernandez and husband, JR and Stephanie Garrett and husband, Dale; her father, Jerald L. McClinton; brothers, Wayne Hollis McClinton, Jimmy McClinton and Gerry McClinton; brothers-in-law, Felix Piña and wife, Anna, Manuel Piña and wife, Gladys and Tom Piña and wife, Cheryl; sisters-in-law, Rita Gonzalez, Julie Johnson and husband, Jerry and Linda Lipe and husband, Jerry; and a large extended family and friends.
