About Judith Nack

A rosary will be held for Mrs. Judith Ann Nack on June 25, 2021 at 2:30 PM in the main sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Denton, Texas. Funeral mass for Mrs. Nack will follow at 3:00 PM. Judith Ann Hepner Nack March 7, 1941 – January 14, 2021, resident of Denton, Texas, died Thursday at home with family by her side. Judy passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Father after a 25-year battle against rheumatoid arthritis. She drew strength from her daily walk with the Lord, knowing the God we serve has total control, and we have nothing to fear because He is always with us. She was born and raised in Freeport, Illinois, where she was often seen with her best friends Pat and Collette or working in Dr. Hermsmeier's dental office. Judy married her sweetheart in 1960, had four children, and in 1979, moved to Denton, TX for Tom's job. Judy made a career at Texas Women's University in the Financial Aid department retiring in 2001 to spend time with grandkids and travel with Tom. She enjoyed long conversations on the landline, staying in touch with family and many dear friends; one would say her old-fashioned way of talking on the phone or sending greeting cards in the mail is still the most meaningful way to communicate! Judy was the second of four children born to the late Donald Hepner and Betty Engle. She leaves behind two sisters Janice Shultz (Roger), of Freeport, IL; Jackie Kramer (Wayne), of Goshen, IN; and is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Hepner (Freddie) of Guyton, GA. Tom and Judy were married for over 55 years before the Lord took Tom home in 2016. She will forever be remembered by her much-loved children Michael (Helen), Lauri (Michael P. deceased), Deborah (David), Kimberlee (Stephen). Plus, seven treasured grandchildren Amber, Michael, Joseph, Aubrey Jane, Justin, Cody, Chloe', five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson, six nieces, eight nephews, along with countless other friends and family she held close to her heart. She was a practicing Catholic attending mass at Immaculate Conception Church, happily helping with the Eucharistic Ministry duties. Judy was passionately involved in the Marianist Lay Community and developed many friendships that lasted until her death. She never shied away from talking about Christ's importance in our lives and treasured each family get-togethers. Especially the Saturday morning breakfasts with her sisters at Krape Park, and she cherished the sisterhood bond they each shared. Nana or Ninnie depending on which grandkids were with her and papa, went on many trips to different states and places. In the wintertime, the kids and grandkids all piled into the mini-van (aka ninnie-van) to see the beautiful Christmas lights. Judy and Tom were avid travelers, visiting each state capital in all 50 states, a goal she loved accomplishing. Please pray Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Novena Prayer [EWTN] with the Rosary of the five Glorious Mysteries for the faithfully departed. In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Immaculate Conception Catholic School to benefit the Marianist Scholarship Fund. Interment will be held in Freeport at a later date.
