Joyce Teresa Furr

Joyce Hebert Furr, 93, of Bertram, Texas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019, and was reunited with her late husband, Oran Lee Furr, on their 73rd wedding anniversary. Joyce was born on August 5, 1926 in Houston, TX. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1944, and attended Our Lady of Lake College, in San Antonio, TX 1944-1945. Her parents, Clifton and Lula Bordelon Hebert, owned the famous Houston restaurant, Hebert's Ritz. Joyce and Oran Lee Furr married on September 1, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Houston, TX. Joyce and Lee had 7 children, while they lived between Houston & Eldorado, TX, then Volente, TX, before settling in Bertram, TX in 1970. She is survived by her loving children: daughter Nannette and husband David Pruett, son Terry and wife Debbie, son Bert, daughter Renee and husband David Popp, daughter Natalie and husband Jack Graham, sister Peggy and husband Paul Ryan, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Furr, wife of her son Patrick. Joyce also is survived by the joys of her life, 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her father Clifton Hebert, mother Lula Bordelon Hebert, husband Oran Lee Furr, sister Derrell Moore, son Patrick, and son Clif. A funeral mass will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., located at 507 Buchanan Dr, Burnet, TX 78611. Gathering of family and friends will be in the Parish Hall following mass. Lee and Joyce's interment of ashes will be at their final resting place in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, TX.
