~~~~~~~~~~ OBITUARY Joe M. Quarles Services for Joe M. Quarles, 78, of Murfreesboro Street, who died Tuesday morning at Middle Tennessee Medical Center following a heart attack, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. David Young will officiate. A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Everett Smith Quarles. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Adams Quarles; one son, Joseph M. Quarles Jr. of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Christie Quarles of Murfreesboro and Janice Hayes of Florence, Ala.; two step-sons, Stanley James of Murfreesboro and Mike James of Auburntown, Tenn.; two sisters, Annie Lee Gaddis of Nashville and Bessie Mai Smelser of Florence, Ala.; and eight grandchildren. A member of North Boulevard Church of Christ, he was a retired electrician, having worked in the Middle East, Alaska and South America. He was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held after 4 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
