BRUCE, JOHN B. "J.B.": Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Gonzales Weekly Citizen (Ascension, LA) - Wednesday, January 15, 2003 Deceased Name: BRUCE, JOHN B. "J.B." A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he died at 6:31 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He worked 10 years at Ethyl Corp. and retired from LuMac Corp. He was 82, a native of Galvez and resident of French Settlement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations Ribbon with one Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Matherne Bruce; three daughters and a son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Theodore Bruce and Denise Berthelot Bruce; and a grandson, Steven Wayne Clement. Copyright 2003 Gonzales Weekly Citizen. All Rights Reserved.
