About John Abbott
John Lennie Abbott Jr., 64, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Maria Parham Health. Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late John Lennie Abbott Sr. And Joyce Lee Abbott Spain. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Gene Wood and Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving are three sons, Jonathan Abbott (Jacqueline), Dustin Abbott (Suzie), and Hunter Abbott (Kristie); one sister, Shelia Finch (Crawford); one brother; Trenton Abbott (Carol); nine grandchildren, Dylan Abbott, Katherine Abbott, Cole Stegall, Autumn Abbott, Lane Newhouse, Rilynne Abbott, Logan Abbott, Abel Abbott, and Everlee Abbott, and one great-grandchild, Ava Abbott. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home. All other times, at the home of Hunter and Kristie Abbott, 265 Ridge Circle Road Henderson, NC 27537. Surviving as pall bearers will be Cole Stegall, Jackie Ellington Jr., Chuck Parrish, Bryant Parrish, Wade Abbott and Ryan Smiley. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be to Sossamon Funeral Home, P.O. Box 138 Henderson, NC 27536. Arrangements are by Sossamon Funeral Home.
