Joe B. Raburn, 79 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, October 25, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Rev Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Private interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. (Published by Morrison Funeral Directors, October, 22, 2013) ----- DUMAS — Joe B. Raburn, 79, of Dumas died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev Jerry Howe, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Joe was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Wellington to O.B. and Ruby Haralson Raburn. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1951 and from West Texas State College in 1955. Joe married Sue Crawford Raburn on Aug. 17, 1955. They moved to Dumas in 1957, where he owned a Thriftway Supermarket until his retirement in 1994. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas and Dumas Noon Lions Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, O.B. and Ruby Raburn and two brothers, Sam and Don Raburn . Survivors include his wife, Sue; a son, Tom Raburn and wife Janet Lauderdale of Falls Church, Va.; a daughter, Janice Raburn and husband Cliff Dean of Darnestown, Md.; a sister, Allene Taylor of San Antonio; three brothers, O.B. Raburn Jr of Andrews, Randall Raburn of Oklahoma City and Douglas Raburn of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 617, Dumas, TX 79029; or Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
