About JoAnn Oakes
JoAnn Marie Oakes 73 passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2009. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Raymond and Maggie Orebaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband Durben Oakes on Feb. 22, 1999. JoAnn is survived by her six children: Robert (Bobbi Jo) Oakes, Sherryl (Dorrell) McClain, Carol (Norman) Oakes, JoEllen (Eric) Robertson, Shirley Oakes and Thelma (Bill) Hendrix. She is also survived by 19 grand children and 18 great-grand children, 3 sisters: Betty Fulmer, Thelma Hale, and Cora Thomas, one brother; George Orebaugh. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Vivian Manuel and Elnora Blunk, 2 brothers; Bud Orebaugh and John Orebaugh. Services entrusted to Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel.
