About Jeffrey Berk
Jeffrey B. Berk, 39, was pronounced dead Dec. 2 at 5:55 p.m. in his residence on Krick Lane, Windsor Township. The cause of death is under investigation by the Berks County coroner’s office. Born in West Reading, he was a son of Homer H. and Elizabeth A. (Bausher) Berk, Tilden Township. Berk had been employed as a mechanic by East Penn Manufacturing Co., Lyons, and was last employed as a mechanic by Dick Wessner Excavating, Windsor Township, last working Friday. He was a 1982 graduate of Hamburg High School. Berk was a well-known stock car driver and a former champion of street stock car racing at Susquehanna Speedway. He was also a go-cart race driver at Shellhammer’s Raceway, Mohrsville. He is also survived by two sons, Codie A. and Austin L., both of Perry Township. Other survivors include a sister, Cynthia A. (Berk) Dissinger, Greenwich Township; and three brothers: Gary L. and Michael R., both of Tilden Township, and Bryan K., Richmond Township. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg. Burial will be in St. Paul’s (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Township. Reading Eagle - December 4, 2002 A certificate of death by suicide was determined by the coroner's office.
