About Jeane Tackett
ALBANY -- Jeane Tackett, 80, of Albany, Texas, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004 in an Abilene hospital. Jeane was born March 24, 1923 in Clifton, Bosque County, Texas. She married Edward J. Tackett February 8, 1942 in Breckenridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Jeane was a homemaker. She was Regent of the Lee's Legion chapter of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Jeane was a past president of the Albany Study Club and a member of the Albany Lioness Club. Jeane was a loyal military wife, having moved with her husband many times during his long career in the Air Force. She was the president of several wives' clubs and a leader in the bases' disaster control programs. Jeane adapted readily to whatever environment she found herself. Her greatest pride was being a supportive wife, a loving mother, and a great homemaker. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 at First Baptist church with Rev. John Tunnell officiating. Interment will follow in Albany Cemetery under the direction of Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Edward J. Tackett of Albany; children, James P. Tackett and wife Juli of Terra Haute, Indiana, Janice Fulkerson and husband Wesley of Albany, Phylis McGuffin and husband David of Hondo, and Phillip Tackett and wife Donna of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. Honorariums may be made to the Robert Nail Scholarship Fund, Box 1058, Albany, Texas 76430; the American Cancer Society; or the charity of choice.
