About Jane Kucera
Jane F. Kucera, age 90, of Kearney, formerly of North Platte, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after a brief illness on January 31, 2023 at CountryHouse in Kearney. Jane was born to Emil and Angeline (Kemp) Koopman on July 11, 1932 in Le Mars, Iowa. After graduating from high school, Jane studied to become a nurse in Sioux City, Iowa, a career which led her to be a life-long caregiver for many. In 1954 she married Wallace Kucera. After living in Germany and California, they returned to Nebraska to live and raise their family. In 1970 they moved to North Platte. There Jane continued to work as a registered nurse at the hospital as well as several doctor's offices. After retirement, Jane was a regular volunteer at the Catholic Community Food Pantry in North Platte. She served quietly behind the scenes and was always one to provide a helping hand. Jane loved spending time with her family and friends and was known for apple pies and most importantly, her strength. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Dorothy, Imedla, Marjorie, and Raphael. Inurnment --February 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
