About James Sabo-Shuler
James C. Sabo-Shuler, 61, of Janesville, died at Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. James was born in Janesville on Aug. 10, 1947, a son of William C. and Ruth V. (Austin) Shuler. He graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1965, received a BA degree from Milton College in 1969 and a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL, in 1972. He served as pastor of United Methodist churches in Ripon, WI and in western Michigan. He later graduated from Wayne State University with a registered nursing degree and prior to becoming disabled was employed as a registered nurse in the infectious disease unit at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. When he resided in Michigan, James was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. He was a member of Seventh Day Baptist Church in Milton. Surviving are his brother, Ronald Shuler of Janesville and his nephew, William E. Shuler who is currently serving with the Army at Fort Stewart, GA. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Rev George Calhoun will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Monday until the time of services. Private burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. (Janesville Gazette Saturday July 11, 2009)
