James William Rockwell

James William "Bill" Rockwell, Jr., 48, of Hedgesville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home. Bill was born July 29, 1974, in Martinsburg, he is the son of James Allen Rockwell, Sr. and the late Leona Kyne Rockwell. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. For twenty-two years he worked as a hardwood floor installer, most recently he was employed at Burkholder's American Floors. Bill was a hardworking family man. He was also an avid hunter, and fisherman. Bill loved the outdoors, his most cherished moments involved going on hunting and fishing trips with his son. Bill also enjoyed grilling and listening to some good ole rock, metal or country music, while spending precious time with his family, and beloved pets Rhett Butler, Mamie, Callie. and Scooter. His famous departing words to family and friends were always, "call me if you need anything.", followed by a gentle smile. Bill whole - heartly meant those words. He truly valued spending time with his family and friends. His passing was sudden, but the blessing of his life left an ever-lasting imprint on the hearts and souls of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and always in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Crista Strosnider-Rockwell; one son, Dillon Rockwell; one sister, Lisa Rockwell, and husband, Kirk Ambrose.; and one nephew, Tyler Tribby. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg with Pastor Chuck Donivan officiating. Interment will be held in Rosedale Cemetery.
