About James Lashley
James Ronald Lashley, age 86, born on May 1, 1935, to William Jennings Lashley and Lucille Mallory Lashley in the Paramore Community of Jackson County passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, with his family by his side. Ronald was a man of great faith. He was a Veteran of the US Navy who proudly served his country during the Korean War. Ronald enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. He retired from Apalachee Correctional Institution in 1989 after 32 years of dedicated service to the State of Florida. He loved nothing more than a road trip to the mountains with his wife Juanita while stopping to shop in flea markets and "swap meets" on the way. Ronald was committed to family and his children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He lived a good life, made many friends and helped others when he could. Ronald will be missed, but never forgotten. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Jack Watts. Ronald is survived by his wife of 66 years; a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; a sister and her husband; two brothers and their wives; three sisters-in-law; four grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Big Bend Hospice for the special love and care shown to Mr. Ronald and the family during his final days. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM CT. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge, Florida.
