Jack Erling Gabor

The funeral service for Jack E. Gabor will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 4th, at First Lutheran Church in Lake City, MN with Pastor Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City, MN. Jack Gabor, 67, of Lake City, MN died Tuesday evening, February 1, 2011 at his home in Lake City, MN. Jack Erling Gabor was born March 17, 1943 in St Paul, MN to John and Virginia (Awes) Gabor. He grew up in Rochester, MN and attended John Marshall High School. Jack married Kay Mullenbach and later divorced. On December 31, 2003 he married Jenny Lee Hayes Doughty in Duluth, MN. Jack was a Home Building Contractor and retired after 45 years as a Partner in Summit Custom Homes. Jack moved to Zumbro Falls, MN in 1978 and in 2007 he and Jenny moved to Lake City, MN. Jack enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandkids. Jack is survived by his wife, Jenny Gabor of Lake City, MN; one daughter, Jacquie Gabor of Pine Island, MN; step-sons, Jason & Judy Doughty of Eveleth, MN, and Scott & Melissa Doughty of Plainview, MN; seven grandchildren, Jake Lacey, Griffin, Alyxandra, Logan, Tyler, and Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ryan, and Jax; mother, Virginia Gabor of Mazeppa, MN; sister, Joann & Ray Vik of Mazeppa, MN, Julie & Rene Pena of Canton, MN, and one brother, Jim Gabor of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by a son and daughter, his father, a sister, and grandson. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3rd, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.
