About J. Cannon
Son of John W. and Clara Mae Murphree Cannon; widower of Laura Yongue Cannon, to whom he was married for 62 years. Veteran, US Army, World War II, where he served in the North African Theatre; fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Former superintendent of Table Rock State Park. He had been a member of IPTAY since 1952. Survived by three nephews and seven nieces, and other extended family. Predeceased by his only child, John Douglas Cannon; three brothers, B.L. Cannon, Roy Cannon and Ray Cannon; and two sisters, Pauline Cannon Porter and Ruby Cannon Brewer. He was the last surviving member of the immediate Cannon family.
