About Irene Pacak
Irene Felegy Pacak passed to eternal rest August 21, 2014, she was 90 years old. Irene was born June 8, 1924, to Mitro and Anna Felegy, the sister to two older brothers Nicholas and Joseph, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Upon graduation of high school, at the age of 17, she began working at the telephone company. She always thought she would be a 'career girl' until she met and married Steven Pacak, on October 25, 1952. They resided in Franklin Park, Illinois, where she worked as a bookkeeper for a tool and dye company. She retired from there in 1989. She moved to the Cincinnati area in 2009 to be closer to family upon the death of her husband, Steve. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral in Minneapolis, but worshiped in several parishes away from her church home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mitro and Anna, her brothers, Nick and Joe, a sister, Anna, who died soon after birth, and her husband, Steve. She leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, and numerous God-children. Irene profoundly touched those she met and made friends easily. She will be deeply missed by those that love her. There will be a one hour calling at St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church, 4451 Wagner Rd., Dayton, OH 45440, at 5:00 pm Friday, August 22, 2014, with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm with a light repast to follow. She will then be flown to Minneapolis to be laid to rest alongside her husband Steve. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Crossroads Hospice, 4380 Glendale-Milford Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242.
